Ingredients:
180g soft butter
3/4 cup caster sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups self-raising flour (or plain with 2 tsp baking powder)
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 cup milk
Sugar topping
1 tbs caster sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1 tbs melted butter
Method :
Preheat the oven at 180 deg. In a bowl mix together sugar; softened butter; vanilla extract till nice and creamy.
Now add eggs one at a time. Sieve flour cinnamon into the batter and mix well by adding milk.
Make a smooth cake batter and pour in a greased and dusted baking tin. Spin the tin to remove bubbles and avoid rising of cake in the middle. Bake at 180 deg for about 40 mins. Once done let the cake cool down.
In a small bowl take melted butter and add cinnamon and some sugar to it. Mix to make a thin syrup which you can brush /spread on top of the cake. The cake is ready to serve.
